Damage to the nervous system

Numerous studies show that people with type 2 diabetes have about double the incidence of Alzheimer's. Research (from the Swedish Karolinska Institute) shows a correlation between border line diabetes (i.e. high blood sugar levels) and a 70% higher risk of developing Alzheimer's.

This shows that people with high blood sugar increase the risk of dementia. The hypothesis is that the primary cause is inadequate cerebral circulation induced by diabetes.
These continuous hormonal stresses, with their implications, lead to a depletion of energy and the consequent general weakening that in the long run damages the immune system. It is therefore clear and evident that the habit, which we have developed in recent decades, of consuming excess refined sugar can lead to significant damage to health. If we consider these as the basis of a wrong diet and add a sedentary lifestyle, it is easy to understand how we have come to have two thirds of the population obese or overweight and 3 and a half million Italians with diabetes.
